    How to spoil your dog

Did you know that spoiling and pampering your dog can confuse him and increase anxiety, leading to unwanted behaviors? But your dog is your best friend, your constant companion, always there to listen to you, love you unconditionally and cuddles with you. So why wouldn’t you want to pamper your dog every once in a while, right? Isn’t it only fair to return the favor by pampering them in a way that will make them happy and enhance their lives at the same time? Of course! Below are some healthy ways to spoil and pamper your dog and show them just how much you love having them in your life.

    1. FOOD
We all know the number one way to any dog’s heart is through his stomach! Cooking healthy homemade dog food is a great way to spend time with your dog in your kitchen and fill his belly with delicious and nutritious food. If cooking is not your thing or you don’t have time or the skill to cook from scratch, there are other alternatives available that are just as good. You can check your local business directory to see if there are any local bakeries that make special dog food and treats for dogs. It’s one of the easy ways to get home-baked goodies for your dog without doing it yourself. You can also give your dog quality dog treats like dog biscuits or Esophagus chews.

    2. LOTS OF WALKS
Dogs love to explore and walking is usually the highlight of their day. They love to explore and see what has changed since the last time they visited a certain bush or rock. Walking is a good way to make sure your dog is getting plenty of exercise both physically and mentally. Surprise your dog and take her out for an extra walk on a nice day.

    3. BELLY RUBS AND RUMP SCRATCHES!
For most dogs, belly rubs and rump scratches communicate affection and love. Belly rubs and rump scratches are one of the highest pleasure zones for many dogs, along with the underside of the chin and the chest. It’s their favorite thing and one of the easiest ways to spoil your dog.

    4. LEARN NEW TRICKS!
What’s more fun than teaching your dog how to high-five? Dogs love to learn new things and teaching your dog new tricks is fun and rewarding for both of you. It will allow your dog to form a closer bond with you and learning basic commands and tricks will also help him have better manners and confidence. You can also motivate your dog to learn by giving him quality dog treats.

    5. TAKE YOUR DOG FOR A CAR RIDE!
Many dogs would give anything to take a trip with you even if it’s just cruising around the neighborhood. Please your dog and take him for a car ride with all the windows open and let your dog sniff the wind as it fills the car. You can also take your dog to a pet store for a new toy!

    6. SPA DAY!
Most dogs don’t always look forward to bath time, but a regular positive grooming experience doesn’t just leave your pet looking great, but it can make them feel great as well and even look forward to his grooming sessions with you. Of course, you can’t always take a trip to the salon, but regular brushing routine can help to keep your dog’s coat and skin healthy and clean. It’s also a great way to bond and show your dog just how much you care.

    7. Schedule Regular Veterinary Checkups
Your dog may not realize you’re pampering him whenever you take him to the vet, but honestly one of the best ways you can spoil your dog is to make sure that he lives a long and healthy life. Nothing can keep your dog on a healthy track more than annual visits to the vet and making sure that your dog is up-to-date on all of his vaccines and free from any diseases.

    8. Lots of Praises and Petting
Besides food and your spot in bed, what your dog really wants from you is attention. Giving lots of praises and petting your dog with so much affection is a great way to show him just how much you love him. It also provides positive reinforcement for a good behavior and is a good way to connect with your dog.
